The National Suicide Prevention Directory [NSPD] is the most comprehensive list of U. S. suicide prevention/crisis intervention centers available on the Internet. The NSPD's purpose is to provide the public with a central source of contact information for suicide prevention organizations committed to providing educational and counseling programs focused primarily on immediate intervention and long term suicide prevention action. The contacts listed herein serve to help us recognize persons at risk of suicide and to correctly intervene in the lives of such persons before they take their own lives. If you require immediate assistance with a present crisis and there is no helpline in your locale listed herein, please contact 1-800-SUICIDE [784-2433] or 1-800-273-TALK [8255] to reach the nearest hotline or crisis intervention service for your area.
